Stephen is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering at UQ, provides advisory services through Cape Otway Associates, and is a director of an energy technology startup.
Stephen is also an engineer with over 30 years’ experience, working on projects in over 30 countries in the economics and dynamics of energy systems and electricity and resources markets. Stephen is the lead author of the report on the study What would be required for nuclear energy plants to be operating in Australia from the 2030s, published by UQ in 2021, and has recently supervised research modelling the total system costs of decarbonising Australia’s electricity either with or without nuclear energy.
