Matt was elected to the Senate, representing Western Australia, in 2019. He serves as the Shadow Minister for Choice in Childcare and Early Learning; Shadow Minister for Child Protection and Prevention of Family Violence and is Deputy Manager of Opposition Business in the Senate. Before entering parliament, Senator O’Sullivan held senior leadership roles focused on reform in employment and social policy. He worked to strengthen workforce participation, improve opportunity and helped create practical initiatives with measurable outcomes for families and communities. Senator O’Sullivan and his wife have been married for 26 years and have two teenage children.
