Senator Matt O’Sullivan has spent his career moving between hands-on community work and frontline policy roles before entering federal politics. Trained as an electronic technician, he later worked as a youth leader before joining Andrew Forrest’s Minderoo Foundation, where he served as Chief Operating Officer of Generation One from 2008 to 2018. He was elected to the Western Australian Senate in 2019 and re-elected in 2025. A member of the Liberal Party of Australia, O’Sullivan currently serves as Deputy Manager of Opposition Business in the Senate, Shadow Minister for Choice in Childcare and Early Learning, and Shadow Minister for Child Protection and the Prevention of Family Violence. He has chaired and served on numerous Senate committees, including the Education and Employment committees.
