Executive Director, CIS 

Michael is Executive Director at CIS. He was formerly Editor-in-Chief of The Australian Financial Review for more than 13 years, making him the longest serving editor or Editor-in-Chief of an Australian national newspaper. He started at the Financial Review in 1982 and has served as industrial relations reporter, economics editor, opinion editor and Washington correspondent for the masthead. Before returning to the Financial Review in 2011, he spent a dozen years at The Australian, including as economics editor and five and a half years as its editor. After a break, he returned to the Financial Review as Editor-at-Large.
